Pinky

photo 5 (15)Pink is my favourite colour and yet I don’t really own that many articles of clothing in my favourite shade…I don’t know why that is. I’ve always thought that as you get older you revert back to the way you were as a child, in some form. As a youngling, I was very girly – only liked to wear skirts/dresses (although I always wanted to be like my brothers, and so it would be a skirt and no shirt), and pink was my absolute favourite colour. I named all my stuffed animals after the colour – Pinky, to be exact. But as I got a bit older, I started to dislike pink and became a little less girly in dress, and now here I am back to my roots. It all comes full circle.

Anyways, I’ve had this jacket since my last visit to MTL and hadn’t had a chance to wear it on the blog yet because I wasn’t really sure what to pair it with, but when I received this wonderful Samantha Pleet dress and noticed the buttons were pink – plus the added pink of my sunnies – it was like a match made in sartorial heaven.

What about you guys? Is there anything about your young self that you notice in your present self?

The jacket is so terrific! And what beautiful details with the buttons on the dress. Lovely lovely.
I’ve gotten more girly these past few years also, just like my childhood. Last year I had a total of no pink dresses, because I felt a bit “meh” about pink, didn’t want to be a stereotype, but then I realised, it’s worse not being myself, so pink has been reintroduced in my wardrobe 😀 And I’m happy for it.
    Lovely and beautiful photos!
    Much love

Thank you ❤ I really could not turn it away, even if I had no clue what I could pair it with. haha. And I totally feel you. Pink is such an obvious colour for girls to like, but whatever. Like what you like, aint no shame in that. ❤

I know, the colour totally sold me. I had no idea what I would pair it with, but I knew I had to have it ❤ And yes, the scalloped hem is awesome, such a simple dress, but has such sweet details. ❤
