Shop Update (Not)

Charlie Chaplin. Sunnyside. Charles Chaplin - USA 1919

The month of May is a busy one for Larkspur, and is flying by all too quickly for our liking. We won’t have shop updates this week or next on account of some prep work that we need to be doing for the Montreal Spring Vintage Market next weekend. We’ll be putting the shop in vacation mode while we’re away, and we think (hope) that a lot of our items will be going at the sale, so if there are things you’ve been eyeing, now’s the time to snatch them up! Our regular weekly shop updates will resume on the 23rd of May.

We have some pretty exciting things coming up as well, including a giveaway through one of our favourite blogs, and a Summer lookbook which is being shot soon by our favourite girl, Kira Crugnale. So, stay tuned for that!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lauren Moffatt (belated) SS13

22

There couldn’t be a collection more suited to my idea of Spring and Summer than Lauren Moffatt’s SS13 collection. Perfect outfits for date nights to ice cream shops, sangria in the park, outdoor movies, lakeside bike rides and girls nights eating oysters & drinking champagne on a patio somewhere.

I’m well aware how late I am on posting this, but until recently there was no point torturing myself with Spring/Summer collections at all. But it’s warm now, and with my first sunburn of the season, comes my first post about Summer clothes. So bear with me while I make my way through all the amazing collections that have already  been covered by every other blog out there!

The Beach

DSC_0904

Matt’s parents have gone on a trip for a little while, which means Matt (and sometimes me!) has a beautiful home to runaway to whenever he likes. I’m not sure what it is about his parents home, but I instantly fell in love with it during my first visit.

It’s pretty far east in Toronto, located in the beaches, which makes you feel like you have left the city, and are staying in a sweet little cottage, only maybe not so little. It has a vibe that can only make you feel relaxed and happy (smiles!!!).  It is an oasis, and one I always look forward to visiting. You can follow the sun all day, from the porch, to the balcony, to the backyard. It makes waking up in the morning not such a chore, but something to be desired. Gus also really loves it – lots of window ledge perching and peeking and sun bathing. Our very own solar baby Gus.

Their home is also a short walk to the beach and an amazing fenced in dog park, so wee Gus can roam as he pleases. We took a stroll through the ravine yesterday afternoon, and we plan to go there again on my day off this week and take some woodsy barefooted photos. Needless to say, it is much easier on the eyes than my strange neighborhood of Galaxy Donuts and halfway houses…sorry, Parkdale, I do actually love you and don’t plan to leave you.

Oh! And just a reminder about the Montreal Pop-up we are participating in! Any of you MTL’ers or Ottawanians (who don’t mind taking a drive), come visit us and a bunch of other cool people!

1970’s Peasant Peterpan Collar Dress

This week we’ve added some pretty lovely dresses to the shop, along with some fun shorts, the most adorable skirt and a sweet pastel blouse. We are sad to part ways with the peterpan collar dress, but we are just not tiny enough to wear it. We hope it finds the perfect home! So come on by and take a peek at what we’ve got in stock!
