ACT THREE. ‘s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection! It feels like we shot this lookbook ages ago, and I have been dying to share it and these perfect little dresses ever since. We were lucky to find a room at The Gladstone Hotel that would made all our Ballet meets Renoir meets Versailles dreams come true and I think it helped to bring out the magic and elegance of this collection. As always, I am so proud to be a part of Sarah’s little team and I hope you all love the collection as much as I do.

Collection: Co FW ’16

It wasn’t until seeing one of these images on Pinterest last week that I had even heard of design label Co. And after looking through previous seasons, trying to figure out why I had never heard of this label, I quickly learned this collection is kind of very different from their 2015 collections, which is to say, not at all my style. So what sets this season apart for me? Well, it’s decidedly vintage, taking inspiration from the glamorous and yet often androgynous Marlene Dietrich. It goes without saying it’s a collection that speaks to me far more than their previous collections of – for lack of a better word(s) – fashion-y silhouettes and luxury designs. I can appreciate collections like such for their artistic vision and value, but my more sensible side feels they are not wearable pieces, at least to me anyway. I can appreciate it, but I don’t fall for it the way I would something that seems real, real in the sense that it’s accessible and approachable. But this collection! This collection felt like epiphany – this is the kind of comfort I have been searching for! This style of put-togetherness and ease is exactly what calls to me on days when pants win over skirts, and undeniably proves simplicity doesn’t have to look so simple. I am excited to see what else is to come from this label, whether it will continue to speak to and inspire me, or become something of an afterthought.

What do you guys think? Into this label? Did you like their previous collections?

Collection: Samantha Pleet S/S 2016

Collection: Samantha Pleet S/S 2016Collection: Samantha Pleet S/S 2016Collection: Samantha Pleet S/S 2016YES, PLEET.

I’ve been following Samantha’s collections for what feels like years and years now, and it’s been so interesting to watch her label change and grow, while still maintaining many of it’s defining design elements – it’s surprising, while also being kind of reassuring. Samantha Pleet has always been for the dreamer, and in my opinion, the unapologetic weirdo, so to speak; a label I feel connected to in many ways. This collection features pockets disguised as windows, shift dresses, co-ords, 70s collars, wide legged pants and of course, a Pleet collection would not be complete without an illustrated print featuring the collection’s themes.

Are you fans of Samantha Pleet as well? How do you feel about this collection? It’s a bit different than past seasons – more masculine.

COLOUR ME RAD!

Valentino never disappoints me. Yes, it’s always a bit over-top, but that’s exactly what I love about this label. Nothing about Valentino is quiet or reserved. Valentino is not for the faint of heart or the modest, and this particular collection is no exception. It’s in your face and literally spans worlds. Do you notice the mix of Americana and Japanese themes? I did, although it took me a minute. It was confusing at first, in the way that two things so very different could be united and you never considered it before. It’s easy to dislike it at first, only because it’s so unfamiliar, but once you are over that initial moment of floundering feelings, finally, there is clarity – it’s fucking awesome.

Collection: THE WHITEPEPPER Sunday Morning

Larkspur Vintage | Collection: THE WHITEPEPPER - Sunday MorningWell it’s been quite awhile since I posted a collection or lookbook here. I’m not sure the reason for that. I think I have just been interested in posting my own original content, along with being kind of bored by a lot of the stuff coming out recently. One thing I will never grow bored of, however, is THE WHITEPEPPER. And how could I? With simple silhouettes adorned with little paws, batting eyelashes and cute facial silhouettes in a mix of pastel and primary colours, they are always coming out with something new and fresh, and yet so quintessentially WHITEPEPPERY. This collection seems to take the normcore silhouettes and styles that have risen in popularity and made them interesting by adding cool novelty prints and detailing without being overwhelming. I like the marriage between the two – simplicity and originality, very yes pls. Oh, and yes, I will take the Pink Painted Paw Shirt, thanks.
