Everything Leith Clark touches turns to gold, and her collaboration with Warby Parker is no exception. Unfortunately for my face, I won’t be wearing any of these eye glasses any time in the foreseeable future. Sometimes I curse the fact that my eye sight is excellent (k, well that’s dumb). However, those Greta sunnies are looking pretty excellent. I would have never pictured myself lusting after a pair of purple shades, but these ones look so damn cool. Maybe it’s just that they are round and giving off 60’s vibes, either way, I want. Thanks Leith for always being amazing.

Mayflower Supply Co.
I’m very excited to be sharing the Mayflower Supply Co. look book today. At the wheel of this setting ship is the lovely Liz Hull. I met Liz through this very blog, and had the pleasure of meeting up with her this past summer when she was visiting Toronto. I have been anticipating this soon-to-come vintage apparel shop for awhile now. We had talked a bit of shop, and our future goals, and I knew as soon as she mentioned opening her own store it would be a great one. The site will be launching in the next coming week, and will be filled with one-of-a-kind vintage pieces from New England, with focus on heritage brands like LL Bean and Pendleton. This look book honestly has me wide eyed and drooling. If it is any indication of how the shop will be, I’m bursting with joy. There are so many pieces that just feel like they could transition seamlessly into any sort of wardrobe. Whether you’re a minimalist, or a lover of print mixing (hi! me!me!me!), there is something for everyone. Head on over to Mayflower Supply Co. to become a pioneer and be notified as soon as the shop launches. I know I have my eye on the sheer embroidered blouse (wow, what a surprise), and that velvet crimson dress is screaming holiday at me!

Rosaspina Vintage A/W ’13
I was pretty excited to find Ale of Rosaspina Vintage had released her new A/W’13 collection and look book yesterday. I’m a big fan. a BIG fan. Ale designs such pretty vintage inspired pieces, and her mother brings the designs to life with vintage fabrics from her grandmother’s archives. Her collections are not only lovely, but feel like a beautiful tale of legacy.
This collection is full of lady-like frocks, capes(!!!), pleated skirts, and some of the best high-waisted shorts I have laid eyes on in awhile. They also collaborated with Atelier Carlotta Sadino to create matching hats & headpieces so you can be decked head to toe in gloriousness. I would also like to mention, the first image of the look book is breathtaking. Am I right?! Tiny Ale next to this enormous tree is absolutely stunning. It could be the cover of a fairy-tale book. Or a Thumbelina re-make…a dark-haired, 1960’s Thumbelina.

Samantha Pleet SS14 – Arcadia
I had been anticipating Samantha Pleet SS14 collection entitled Arcadia for quite some time now. I truly mean this! (Instagram can be a curse when it reveals such exciting happenings and then you must play the waiting game). She may be my favorite designer out there at the moment, for reasons that go beyond aesthetic appeal. She is a true artist in all that she does. Her collections consistently transcend time and place (and trend). She is unequivocally her own, and there is nothing I love more.
The short film “Arcadia” and this season’s collection was inspired by the journals of Charles Darwin during his journeys to Tiera Del Fuego, and imagery from Gauguin and Rousseau. The film follows a heroine explorer who happens upon a mythical island-paradise and comes to find her own freedom through the island’s inhabitants – embodying liberation, sensual pleasure, nature and the feminine divine (sign me up!). This season she is back with her signature hand drawn prints and silhouettes that would make any gal look ravishing. And in my case, possibly put my bank account in the negatives just to acquire one piece. You can feel the care and thought she puts into each and every piece, and I just don’t think you can find better garments when love is involved in the process.

Nadinoo Play By Numbers
At last, Nadinoo is back! And once again, she has left me utterly delighted. Creating totally wearable garments for the gal who loves a quirky print, or the gal who just wants to throw something on in the morning. She is the connoisseur of the simple dress that speaks for itself. In this collection she features stunning seasonal liberty prints all made of 100% cotton. And oh goodness, the adorable collars designed to look like daisy petals! My favourites are the Paint by numbers dress, Oopsie Daisy dress, and of course we cannot leave out her infamous pinafores, Art class Pinafore.
