I’m very excited to be sharing the Mayflower Supply Co. look book today. At the wheel of this setting ship is the lovely Liz Hull. I met Liz through this very blog, and had the pleasure of meeting up with her this past summer when she was visiting Toronto. I have been anticipating this soon-to-come vintage apparel shop for awhile now. We had talked a bit of shop, and our future goals, and I knew as soon as she mentioned opening her own store it would be a great one. The site will be launching in the next coming week, and will be filled with one-of-a-kind vintage pieces from New England, with focus on heritage brands like LL Bean and Pendleton. This look book honestly has me wide eyed and drooling. If it is any indication of how the shop will be, I’m bursting with joy. There are so many pieces that just feel like they could transition seamlessly into any sort of wardrobe. Whether you’re a minimalist, or a lover of print mixing (hi! me!me!me!), there is something for everyone. Head on over to Mayflower Supply Co. to become a pioneer and be notified as soon as the shop launches. I know I have my eye on the sheer embroidered blouse (wow, what a surprise), and that velvet crimson dress is screaming holiday at me!

The Vacant North

0x550

I’m so excited to be sharing The Vacant North with you today. It’s dear to my heart because it’s a project started by two people who have been a big part of Larkspur – Meaghan Kelly (yes, my old partner) and Kira Cronin (Larkspur Vintage look books). Kira left us not so long ago to marry her love, and start a new chapter of her life in Chicago. The Vacant North was partially created as a way for Kira and Meaghan to stay connected through creative means, but it blossomed into a larger project.

The Vacant North is a (mostly) photo project that focuses on exploration and travel, while encouraging others to do the same. Described by them as “the desire to move past the city limits and into the greater unknown”, forgetting your map (or iphone) and allowing the road to be your navigator. With photography by both ladies and words by Meaghan, they share moments sometimes lost in a world so driven to move forward, reminding us to stop and take a breath.

Not only will they be sharing a selection of photo series as they continue their journeys, but they have a corresponding blog featuring their favorite brands, art history, and a few other gems in the works. I’m also really excited that they recently opened their own shop selling exclusive Vacant North products, where Kira can put her awesome design skills to work and share them with the wonderful people of this world.

Rosaspina Vintage A/W ’13

rosaspinavintage_aw13_intro

I was pretty excited to find Ale of Rosaspina Vintage had released her new A/W’13 collection and look book yesterday. I’m a big fan. a BIG fan. Ale designs such pretty vintage inspired pieces, and her mother brings the designs to life with vintage fabrics from her grandmother’s archives. Her collections are not only lovely, but feel like a beautiful tale of legacy.
This collection is full of lady-like frocks, capes(!!!), pleated skirts, and some of the best high-waisted shorts I have laid eyes on in awhile. They also collaborated with Atelier Carlotta Sadino to create matching hats & headpieces so you can be decked head to toe in gloriousness. I would also like to mention, the first image of the look book is breathtaking. Am I right?! Tiny Ale next to this enormous tree is absolutely stunning. It could be the cover of a fairy-tale book. Or a Thumbelina re-make…a dark-haired, 1960’s Thumbelina.

Abandoned Farmhouses

article-2316987-198AAD8F000005DC-836_964x647

Halloween is tomorrow guys! In the spirit of creepy Halloween goodness, I thought I’d share this photo series by Niki Feijen. These abandoned & untouched farmhouses would be a wonderful set up for a good ol’ fashioned haunting movie – Poltergeists, Demons and all that freaky stuff. But, to be honest, I think anyone with a love for antiques and abandoned things would feel right at home in these broken down spots (maybe not at night). Give it a couple sweeps, some Mr.Clean, and we’ve got a pretty dreamy home on our hands.

Fall Vibes

Blustery and Warm
——————————————

Today I thought I’d share come Fall goodness I have been coveting. I may already own something similar to all these items, but these are vibes I’m feeling this Fall/Winter. There are definitely some things way out of my price range, but as far as I’m concerned I could find most (if not all) of them at a thrift store for about 1/4 the price. However, I NEED the Samantha Pleet X Wolverine Blixen boots. My heart has been yearning for them since last season, and I’m not sure I want to fight it any longer.
