Halloween Goodies Roundup

If you are as crazy as I am about Halloween festivities, then it’s likely you have already scoured the internet for Halloween pieces to add to your closet. But maybe you haven’t, and that’s why I thought in the name of Halloween and sharing the fun, I would put together a roundup of some cute Halloween inspired pieces from around the web. I’ve already picked up a couple things for myself that will eventually make an appearance here, but until then, here are some goodies I didn’t pick up, but kind of want to now.

Cute Clips & Pins For Your Hairs

Larkspur Vintage | Cute Clips & Pins For Your HairsAfter my last hair tutorial, I had a couple questions about where to find cute hair pins. So I thought instead of sharing with just those few people in the comments, I’d put together a whole post of where to find cute and strange pins for your hairs. I enjoy both novelty pins, and more romantic, classic sort of clips, so I’ll share all sorts with you in case you aren’t interested in having a popsicle on your head.

CROWN AND GLORY

Crown and Glory is the place to find truly unique and standout pieces for your noggin. If you’re looking for accessories to give your hair that extra pop, this is the shop to head to.

ASOS

Most of the hair accessories I found on ASOS were cute, however, quite subtle. So if you are looking for something with a bit of interest, but not in-your-face type pieces, I’d recommend these ones below, and a ton of others available right now.Larkspur Vintage | Cute Clips & Pins For Your HairsLANEYLOU123 + AISHA123

These two sister shops (one carrying only hair accessories, and the other has all types of jewelry) carry ornate pieces, with a mix of simple, pretty and silly, which I quite like; a little something for everyone.Larkspur Vintage | Cute Clips & Pins For Your HairsSWEETIEPIPS

I think this shop is my personal favourite because the pieces are so special and just downright adorable. This shop really puts the novel in novelty hair clips, so if you are looking to cover your head in sweets and sillyness, this is the one to keep an eye on.

MODCLOTH

I’m loving the simple silhouettes of these gold hair pins; not too much going on, but still something that would catch the eye. Maybe colourful pins are just not your thing, so these would be the pieces I’d suggest, along with a ton of others currently in their shop.

Houndstooth, and other things

DSC_3723I have not had a free weekend in what seems like weeks. Mind you, I normally have Sundays free for whatever I like, but I consider a true free-of-work weekend when I have both Saturday and Sunday off. I cannot complain though, I spent most of Saturday styling another shoot for Gerald, which really doesn’t feel like work at all, but rather something that is fun and gets my creative juices flowing. The other half of the weekend was for blog and shop affairs. I’ll be honest, I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed with finding the time to really give my online shop the love and care it desperately needs – it’s down to the bare bones at this point. But I spent a few hours on Sunday photographing items to list all through the week and I’m hoping I can keep up with this and get back to where we were before I moved a huge amount of stock over to Odd Finds General Store and became busier than ever. I’ve also been feeling sort of uninspired with my writing recently, so we’ll just leave it at that for today.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Winter Winds

DSC_0623

Living in a province where it’s cold the majority of the year, having a good coat is necessary. Since I wear a coat probably 8 months of the year, I find myself always searching for new ones because it can get rather boring wearing the same old coat everyday forever and always. When I found this one at the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show I knew it had to be mine. It was the coat I was looking for. Incredibly warm, huge pockets, big collar, and in a lovely cream colour that goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. It’s exciting to find a vintage coat that actually fits. I’ve been lucky a few times now, but I’m not one those people that consistently finds beautiful vintage coats while thrifting. There are just too many stylish thrifters in Toronto, so you know how that goes.
