I was going to share an entirely (very) different collection today, but then I happened to browse Samantha Pleet’s new website and saw these images that I had seen behind-the-scenes of on instagram several months ago. Needless to say I got excited and decided to share it instead of what I had planned for today. But that is no surprise here. I am a long time fan of Samantha, everything she does, and the people she surrounds herself with. I liken her and the work/garments she produces to something of a enchanted-goddess-superhuman-angel. As you can see, when I like things, I tend to gush over them, like a lot, to an excessive point. But in all seriousness, her work and garments feel very otherworldly to me, and that’s probably why I like it so much, and will continue to enjoy them for years to come, I hope.
I’m finally able to share with you the first shoot I styled (and modelled) with Gerald that was just published in the latest issue of Elegant Magazine. I’m quite excited about this, because it’s an actual print magazine, which means I can get my hands on a copy (as can you!!!). The pain about styling and modeling in shoots that are mean’t for publications is that you’ve got to wait and wait (and wait) sometimes until they have been released by the magazine. So while I had seen these images months ago, I had to wait to share them with you all (save for the few teasers on my instagram). But here we are! I’d just like to say, there is something so fun about being surrounded by gingers all day! To be honest, I don’t really know many gingers, at least not ones I see on the regular (we are very rare and we are mostly men…Girl, Interrupted anyone?!) I felt an immediate connection to these gals. A gingerly bond, if you will.

I’m so excited to able to share the editorial that styled for ROMM magazine‘s upcoming Issue 8. All outfits I styled are either Larkspur garments or from my own personal closet – I’m sure you’ll recognize some of them!
No outfit post today, I got too exhausted last night trying to edit photos after a late night performing at an event – could not keep my eyes open. I’ll have something posted for tomorrow.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
This is going to be a short and sweet one this week because I think I have already talked about these three women endlessly (Amber Mahoney, India Menuez and Hannah Metz, for those of you confused), and how much I love them, and when they collaborate and create together, it’s like magic to my eyes and soul. I happened upon a few images from this editorial for Betty Magazine through instagram (as usual) a few weeks ago. I knew immediately it would be an editorial I would want to share. The aesthetic makes perfect sense to me, and is probably exactly how I would style a shoot. I could go on and on, but let’s just allow the images to speak for themselves, shall we?
Last Sunday was a fun day, indeed. I spent the afternoon on Toronto Island (Wards Island, more specifically) styling a shoot for the talented and lovely photographer, Danielle Suzanne, who is also the editor behind Zeum Mag, along with the team of Zeum gals, Megan Harper and Lauren Fairservice. Our model was the beauteous Gwen of Peggi Lepage, and she is really just a dream to style. That gal looks good in anything! If you have been following this blog for awhile then you can probably spy a multiple of garments from my personal closet, but I also brought along some stock from Larkspur, and styled some pieces from Dolores Haze SS14 collection. It was really a fanstastic day. We weren’t so sure we would ever see the sun, but she did eventually show her face, at just the right time. I’m pretty excited to see the results, and can’t wait to share them with you!
Big thanks to Danielle, Megan and Lauren for the opportunity, and for letting me do my thing. And to Gwen for being such a sport when the sun was nowhere to be found, and it was chilly as fuck!
