Being Kind To Yourself

OKAY ANDIE | Being Kind To Yourselfhow the hell do we do that?

I shot these awhile back, and until recently, I wasn’t really sure why I hadn’t gotten around to sharing them. Aside from me not totally loving all the images I took, I also found myself being hyper-critical about my appearance…which seems to be my way lately. I have come to learn I am so mean to myself. I never find myself thinking horrible things about the people around me, but for whatever reason, when it comes to me, I am downright nasty. I am certain I am not the only person who does this to themselves.

A Relaxed One

OKAY ANDIE | IADWM: A Relaxed Onethis is what i got up to

I’m starting a new series on the blog and as the name implies, i will be sharing a day in my life – from the exciting to the mundane. This idea came to mind in an effort to get myself to pick up my camera more often, document day to day life as it is, and test myself on how I can share a day in images with little to no words. This first go was alright. There were parts in the day I wished I had documented, like our delicious homemade fresh rolls dinner and a very hilarious TV setup for our Riverdale/tickle documentary viewing. But ah well! One post at a time.

Halloween and Autumn Home Touches

Larkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home Toucheslet the gourd times roll

As I mentioned a few posts back, this time last year – and during most of the festive season – I was just moving into a new apartment, and to make the move go a little more smoothly I had rid myself of a lot of the stuff I owned that just felt like dead weight. Because of that, I didn’t really get to make my home feel festive during Halloween or Christmas last year, so this year I really wanted to make my place feel cozy, inviting and somewhere that made me truly happy. Today I thought I’d share a few Halloween and Autumnal bits and pieces from around my home. I pretty well got all these decorations from the dollar store, so for those of you who don’t really want to spend a ton on festive decorations (which is totally reasonable), you can find some pretty cute  and great things for real cheap at your local dollar store.Larkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home TouchesLarkspur Vintage | Halloween and Autumn Home Touches

Mexican Inspired

After going to Tulum, I felt really inspired by Mexico’s interior and exterior decor, colour palettes and rich patterns. There’s something about seeing bright colours, intricate fabrics and distinct furniture that just feels welcoming and happy, and makes you want to settle in. There were many times Kristen and I talked about how we would love to live in a place that felt like Mexico upon walking into it, so since then I have been pinning away – as you do – tons of inspiring places that feel a little bit like the coziness of Mexico (possibly Morocco too), with their impeccable, yet unassuming styling .e66d1a6c23f34715937d029edaa2914bcd896a8540e035eb3a931397b2e8dcd7cb66f4f22082eb45702ad2f060bae2dcbaed31768250edcd53edeb689d1fa808b0f2a6ee6883db6431ded835d253f57fa797dc9f1d5159b91c29e8c10369c738a8f0f2371e8525c7dbcfbbb48446c1fd0ddb949e2b9435c87b73d5b3cfc292a92457a2f14ad2b97fdb64bf173151626f778f5b8ba76b77b5bc6d239a9168e6987b610819cc958f1dbcb9d34619477e9b7aaaf08f5e0c71f06f83368bb2b3ea8f1cdd244ec80c8e32504fdd0d04cad1433d3542bfb4ac0ddec00c07ec5b79d422

Bits Of My Home

Larkspur Vintage | Bits Of My HomeMAISON SPENCE

I’ve had a few requests from you lot to see my apartment, but since it has been a very  s l o w  work in progress since the day I moved in, I haven’t really wanted to share the whole thing – it’s just really not that exciting or noteworthy, at this point. But there are a few bits and bobs from around the apartment that I figured I’d share – mostly in the way of decoration – and some tiny peeks of how things are coming together. If you’ll remember my previous places, I’ve always been a collector of things, but when I moved out of my place with Ryan, I decided to get rid of a lot, only hold onto the things I really loved and live a little more minimalist-y, if you will (it’s so annoying to move when you own a lot of shit). So here we are. It still feels like me – girly, vintage and quirky, but a little more clean and refined.
