Larkspur & Spring TVCS

DSC_1682Last Sunday I had such a great time at the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show. This time around Meaghan helped me out and spent most of the day with me, which I am so grateful for. It can be a really exhausting event when you’re by yourself all day. I’m going to keep this short today because I need to head out real soon, but I want to say a big thank you to the organizer Catherine, the show would not be such a success without her. Thank you to all the people who came by and supported my small business. And thank you to Meaghan and Ryan for all your help, as usual! It’s Friday, and I have the day off tomorrow which I am so looking forward to. Just got to get through this long day of work and dance rehearsals. Happy weekend all!

I talked a little about my experience last Fall at the show, if you are interested.

Larkspur & Toronto Vintage Clothing Show (again)

photo (3)Hello my sweets! The Toronto Vintage Clothing Show is back this weekend, and yours truly will be slinging Larkspur stock. Do you live in Toronto and have your eye on something you aren’t quite sure about? Online shopping not really your thing? Well this is your chance to browse in the flesh! I had such an amazing time last Fall, I couldn’t pass up the Spring edition. Please do come by if you live in the area. It’s a great event, filled with really great vendors that come from cities all around Toronto. Just imagine a ball room FULL of vintage…it’s a dream come true. I’d love to see your faces!

Toronto friends! I will be participating in the Holiday Edition Maker’s Market tomorrow at Crawford Bar. It will be filled with goods by local artisans and vintage from yours truly. Come stuff your tummies with scrumptious food, tasty cocktails and maybe grab a few things for the loved ones on your list. As always, I’d love to see your faces. Last sale I participated in I met tons of wonderful people, and would love for this market to be the same! My lovely father is driving all the way here to help me out because all my trusty side kicks are unavailable for the day. So, added bonus, my crazy father and his hand-crafted wooden pens!

I’m not sure how to express the amazing time I had at The Toronto Vintage Clothing Show. This will now be the fourth vintage market I have done this year. I forget to sit down sometimes and appreciate how much I (and of course Meg, when she was still involved) have done in less than a year with the shop. There is so much more I would like to do, but it’s a decent start.

Anyways! The show! I met so many wonderful people, customers and vendors alike. I am a pretty shy person, but when I’m at my booth, it’s like my discomfort totally dissipates. Getting to talk vintage with people, and sharing the things I love, well it’s a feeling quite like dancing for me. The time flies by, and before you know it, you weren’t quite sure what happened, but you’re left with a warm feeling inside.

It felt like a breath of fresh air when we arrived at 6:30am to load in, and everything was totally organized. I didn’t have to ask a single question. If you have ever participated in a flea market etc., you know what I’m talking about. You can sometimes feel totally overwhelmed by the disorganization. This was not the case here. I have nothing but good things to say about this event, and it’s organizers/staff! Thank you 1 million times!

I unfortunately didn’t get to check out many booths. I was by myself most of the day, peeing wasn’t even really an option, so you can imagine sifting through racks of vintage was not going to happen. However, I did spot a coat that I fell so totally in love with, and ended up buying it at the very end of the day. Now I’m just anticipating colder weather (what!!??) so I can start wearing this baby gem.

Our first pop-up has come and gone, and we could not have asked for a better one. The day started out VERY early, with plenty of unpacking, steaming, hanging and booth set-ups with the help of our dearest friend, Lindsay (Lindsay, you are a god send). Penny Lebo of The Clothing Miner, was a gracious host/organizer, and made the day run smoothly with not one single kink to be found! (THANK YOU PENNY!)

The day was filled with vintage galore, bbq’d hot/veggie dogs, PBR, sangria, homemade cookies, kimchi, tons of sun, good music and even better friends.

We were lucky enough to meet fellow blogger Camille of Unpretentious Bouquet Of Parentheses selling her vintage from her shop, Irene & Irene Vintage. Oh my goodness, she has some of the most beautiful vintage I have seen in a long while. My heart skipped a couple beats every time I skimmed through her racks. I ended up treating myself to one of her blouses, as I could not stop thinking about it throughout the day.

Thanks to anyone and everyone who helped us out, came by to visit, bought some things or opened up their home to the sale! People are awesome!
