Shop Update

1990’s Cream Denim Jumper and Jacket Set

Happy Thursday all! Power and internet are back in my neighbourhood (phew!), just in time for me to update the shop! Come on by and take a look at the newsies, and maybe a look at the oldies! We still have a bunch of stuff from our look book that have yet to find new homes!

It is my (Alex) birthday tomorrow, and I plan to share the love with a little discount on all items in the shop. Stop by tomorrow to find out more!

Also! You may have noticed the blog layout has changed. The old one was lovely, and we miss it dearly, but I am CSS challenged, and it did not have all the layout capabilities I was looking for as we move forward with the blog, and maybe add some new friends to the side bar. I’m still playing around with it a little bit, so do not be surprised. Slowly but surely.

It took a very long time for me to find a place in Toronto that I could call home. When I moved here 6 years ago, it took me about 2 years to stop going back to Ottawa so regularly to get my fix of “home”. I have moved six times since re-locating to Toronto. I couldn’t stay put for one reason or another – room mates leaving, unpleasant apartments etc. I’m now in a place that I love, that feels like mine, because it is only mine (and Gus’ of course).

Dabda at The Toronto Fringe Festival

dabda

Remember Larkspur’s pop-up a few weeks back? Well all that fun was to raise funds for the Dabda stage production choreographed by Alvin Collantes and Hayley Paone, which will be opening tomorrow, at the Toronto Fringe Festival. For lovers of theatre, dance, film, vintage clothing, the 1940’s and just plain old talent, this is a show I wouldn’t want to miss (and I won’t!).

The dancers will be telling a story of 7 teenagers, growing up in the 1940’s, exploring all the fun, questionable and rebellious things teens do. Sounds good right? Sure does!

Check out the flyer for more details! And maybe take a gander at their trailer!

  • I acquired quite a number of new things recently…mostly from Kira’s moving sale (Kira, you will always be an Everglady).
  • Gus still doesn’t know how he feels about the camera (yes he does, its called hate). I point the thing in his face anyway, so I guess I’m a bad mom.
  • My kitchen walls are bare. Exactly 4 plates came crashing down from the walls, probably one a day for 4 days. The first one should have been an indication, but I’m far too hopeful, and maybe not as handy as I thought.
  • There needs to be more Bichon figurines and or anything to do with Bichons, in this world. If you know of any, shoot em my way!
