Into It, Intimates / Miss Crofton ’14 collection

Mermaid_bra_back_WEB_So I realize it was just last week that I shared Miss Crofton intimates, but only a few days after doing so they released a new collection and I liked it so much I figured I may as well share it while it’s fresh and new. I think what I love about Miss Crofton is the simplicity and wear ability of each piece, while never compromising the adorable and fun details, which in my opinion, makes this brand stand out from so many others. Most, if not all of these pieces could actually be worn comfortably under clothes, which I very much appreciate. Don’t get me wrong, I am the first to purchase items that I can’t really wear on a regular basis and are in no way practical, solely based on the fact that it’s special and I must have it, just to own it. But there is something to be said about pieces that are special in design and fabrics, as well as being a reasonable option for comfort and practicality when we aren’t trying to please anyone but ourselves. My favourites are the “Tara” black lace bra, “Velveteen” black floral lace bra, “Zelda” navy jersey set and “Mermaid” high waisted knickers …so like everything, basically.

Check out the whole collection and dreamy lookbook here.

Oleg Oprisco

123576-6766209-365Oleg Oprisco’s work blew my mind when I first came across it through instagram. I immediately went to take a better look and knew I had to share it here. It’s whimsical, otherworldly, thought provoking and sometimes so incredibly clever that I can’t help but be kind of in love with it. I like his use of long haired beauties adorned with blooms, dressed in things I would absolutely clothe myself in, standing lonesome in landscapes that seem too good to be true. And the contrast between the rich colors and dull muted tones is so eye catching and dreamy, it seems like they could only exist in fantasy. But what amazes me most about his work is that it’s all shot on film. It makes you really appreciate his vision and the work he produces. Much like Ellen Rogers, everything is on purpose, and not just anyone can produce such exquisite imagery.

Into It, Intimates / Miss Crofton

2h7eyo3I’m always on the lookout for vintage-inspired intimates, and bookmarking garments I know I would like to own once I feel like I have the extra money to spend on pieces that are a little more expensive than your average big store brands/companies. The smaller brands feel like they keep the customer in mind and create pieces that are special and for all types of women, either for everyday use, or that special occasion, and Miss Crofton does just that. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, from playful seaside imagery and vintage florals, to the 1950’s silhouette. The high quality pieces are entirely hand made and are either part of a limited edition run, or a one off design.” I found Miss Crofton through instagram (thnx insta) and immediately went to the website to see what they are all about. I knew right away it would be a brand I’d like and keep in mind. While we generally have our bras and panties hidden from the world, it’s nice to have something special that is just for you and makes you feel like shaking your lil butt (or full butt, for you lucky curvy women). Each of these pieces has a fun summery feel, and I’m especially enamoured with the “Lovely Lace” white lace set with the high waisted knickers (obviously). Pop by their online shop today, I promise you and your lady bits will not be disappointed.

*since I love lingerie/intimates so much, I’m going to be starting a new weekly series sharing the different brands I have come across. I hope you like it!

Maryanne Moodie

2Lately I’ve had the itch to redecorate my apartment, and with the chance of a move nearing the end of summer, I’ve been stock piling a list of all the sorts of things I’d like to have adorning my walls and coming across some pretty neat makers along the way. Maryanne Moodie, being one of them. Her woven tapestries are the sort of aesthetic I’m very much interested in. I love her use of pastel colours, particularly the combination of creams and light roses. It would be such a beautiful piece to have and would be so fun to style an area of the room around. If you have not checked out her work before, I highly suggest you do. She’s another one of those people that makes me want to work with my hands more and create something I’d be proud of. And interestingly enough, designlovefest is hosting a workshop with this brilliant lady in June, which gives me serious jealousy pangs for those living in California.

Royal Romance

SUMMER_ROYAL_ROMANCE_FOX_BOOK-1Wildfox always produces such stunning lookbooks. Their attention to detail is impeccable, and leaves me with a nice oval shaped mouth producing weird “ooh” and “ahh” noises. That being said, this Summer collection, oh yes, this particular lookbook, I am absolutely smitten with, for obvious reasons. The 60s-dreamy-ethereal-playful vibe is absolutely perfect, and makes me wish I lived inside it. To be totally honest, I have never been a huge fan of Wildfox. Not to say I don’t appreciate what they do, and understand why people are really into it, and there have been pieces I wouldn’t mind owning, but the majority is not really my style. However this collection and lookbook have sort of changed my mind. I’d gladly own most, if not all pieces from it. The polka dot and striped pullovers are amazing, and my god, the sunglasses! 60s, flowers, picnics, cute girl butts, and no bras. I’m sold!
