Sponsor Larkspur

sponsor2Larkspur is now offering sponsorship for November, and thereafter. Larkspur is still fairly small in terms of blogs (only 1 year old), but my readership goes up with each passing day, and I only expect it to continue growing. If you have a blog, shop, small business, anything! that you would like to advertise, please send me an email at larkspur.shoppe@gmail.com. Prices for space will be very reasonable. I love supporting wonderful people and their businesses, so please do not be shy.

Fall Vibes

Blustery and Warm
——————————————

Today I thought I’d share come Fall goodness I have been coveting. I may already own something similar to all these items, but these are vibes I’m feeling this Fall/Winter. There are definitely some things way out of my price range, but as far as I’m concerned I could find most (if not all) of them at a thrift store for about 1/4 the price. However, I NEED the Samantha Pleet X Wolverine Blixen boots. My heart has been yearning for them since last season, and I’m not sure I want to fight it any longer.

Larkspur and Madalynne

PK3

I am heading off to Ithaca, NY and the Finger Lakes now, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! But before I go, I thought I’d share a little collaboration I did with Maddie, the lovely lady behind the blog Madalynne. I told her a little bit about my mother and the tutus she used to sew for me, and she made a lovely post on the construction and history of this exceedingly frustrating and time consuming garment. Check out her blog and our collaboration – if you love sewing, or even just have a slight interest, she’s your gal!

Last night Toronto got hit with an insane amount of rain, and everything flooded. If you google image Toronto Flood 2013, some pretty crazy pictures of the flooding come up! For the most part I stayed safe and dry – my block lost power for about an hour, and then it came back and I walked down the street for pho. Mostly I’m just jealous of all the people whose office buildings are closed cause of power outages/floods/road closures, cause I got caught in the rain on my bike and am sitting here under neon lights shivering, wishing I was curled up reading any of these books and dressed in far warmer/comfier clothes than I am!

Dabda at The Toronto Fringe Festival

dabda

Remember Larkspur’s pop-up a few weeks back? Well all that fun was to raise funds for the Dabda stage production choreographed by Alvin Collantes and Hayley Paone, which will be opening tomorrow, at the Toronto Fringe Festival. For lovers of theatre, dance, film, vintage clothing, the 1940’s and just plain old talent, this is a show I wouldn’t want to miss (and I won’t!).

The dancers will be telling a story of 7 teenagers, growing up in the 1940’s, exploring all the fun, questionable and rebellious things teens do. Sounds good right? Sure does!

Check out the flyer for more details! And maybe take a gander at their trailer!
