Beauty: New Years Look

Larkspur Vintage | Beauty: New Years LookIt’s New Years Eve, and for those last minute peeps (much like myself) who aren’t quite ready, I thought I’d offer a simple look, easily achieved, but quite suitable for a night of ringing in the New Year right proper.

EYES: We want em real smoky; I used Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette, but honestly, any darker shadows you have should work just fine…getting the smoky eye is all about blend blend blending.

CHEEKS: We want em rosy and shiny; I used Revlon classy coral blusher and added Revlon Skinlights Illuminator in pink light along the cheek bones to give that extra bit of sparkle.

LIPS: We want em pink and glossy; I used Bourjois Fraise Remix and added a bit of Burt’s Bees summer twilight lipgloss on top to punch them up.

HAIR: We want it simple; I left my hair to do it’s natural wave and adorablified (not a word, now is) the look up by adding an oversized black bow.

DRESS: We want it cute; Find that party dress that has been sitting in your closet waiting for this moment (in my case it’s this UV dress), put it on, get your butt out of the house and start sippin.

2015 Outfits: January – June

Larkspur Vintage | 2015 Outfits: Jan - JuneInsanely enough, 2015 is coming to a close, which means it is time for my yearly outfit round-up. It is absolutely crazy that a year has already gone by – I remember last New Years day like it was yesterday, which is strange because I generally can’t even remember what I did last week. But we don’t need to get into my concerns about my terrible memory. 2015 outfits! From January to June! And I’ll be back tomorrow with July to December ❤

Outfit: Coming Home

Larkspur Vintage | Outfit: Coming HomeMy parents have lived along this bike path as long as I’ve been alive, or rather, as long as my older brother has been alive, so about 29 years now. We first lived in a town house in a little courtyard along the bike path and then moved a street over to a bungalow backing onto the bike path. This path and forest has seen me through years and years of childhood games, teenage rebellion and a whole lot of over-dramatic sassyness. It’s as much part of my childhood and teen years as our family home, so I felt compelled to share a bit of that with you while I was in Ottawa visiting my family for Christmas. It actually felt pretty lovely that snow fell on this particular day, because before then there was absolutely no snow in Ottawa and the temperatures were much more like early fall than late winter. I honestly don’t much like snow, but it’s beautiful when you are just looking at it and not trudging through it, so I was glad that it showed up on the day I decided to snap some photos. I’m back in Toronto now, but it was nice to spend some time with family, start feeling like a human again (read: not sick) and recharge for the New Year.

How was your holidays? Do you have New Year plans? Tell me things.

Happy Holidays

Larkspur Vintage | Happy HolidaysLarkspur Vintage | Happy HolidaysI’m currently sat in my parents kitchen after eating a butt load of cinnamon buns and unwrapping what is the most exciting amount of lush bath bombs my eyes could behold, and I thought it appropriate to wish you all a very Happy Holidays, whether you celebrate it or not. Gus is currently wearing his Santa suit, although, the hat has made a disappearance because it really seems to upset him (he was just staring at the floor until I took it off), but it makes me laugh (and I’m the boss), so I’m sure to get a snap of him in the outfit every year, which I guess has now become tradition (here, here). I should probably get back to family time, but I hope you all have a wonderful day. Let me know about any fun gifts you gave, or got, or things you did! I want to hear all about it ❤
