DSC_2611DSC_2609DSC_2564DSC_2561DSC_2560DSC_2592DSC_2602DSC_2614I didnt take my camera out much last week, so all these photos were shot at Wards Island (the residential part of Toronto Island) last Sunday while I was styling a photoshoot (which I will be telling you more about tomorrow). I had never really explored this part of the island, so it was really cool to see the homes and people who live here. The neat thing about living on the island is that it feels so far removed from the city. If I could not see the cityscape from across the water I would have thought I was in a small cottage town. The houses are colorful, charming and no two the same. It’s really just a picturesque place to live. I think the people who live here have the right idea – removed from the fast city pace, but a close ferry ride to all the excitement (and grocery stores).

Royal Romance

SUMMER_ROYAL_ROMANCE_FOX_BOOK-1Wildfox always produces such stunning lookbooks. Their attention to detail is impeccable, and leaves me with a nice oval shaped mouth producing weird “ooh” and “ahh” noises. That being said, this Summer collection, oh yes, this particular lookbook, I am absolutely smitten with, for obvious reasons. The 60s-dreamy-ethereal-playful vibe is absolutely perfect, and makes me wish I lived inside it. To be totally honest, I have never been a huge fan of Wildfox. Not to say I don’t appreciate what they do, and understand why people are really into it, and there have been pieces I wouldn’t mind owning, but the majority is not really my style. However this collection and lookbook have sort of changed my mind. I’d gladly own most, if not all pieces from it. The polka dot and striped pullovers are amazing, and my god, the sunglasses! 60s, flowers, picnics, cute girl butts, and no bras. I’m sold!

Like a bullet through time

DSC_2661I look bored in these photos, as I usually do. I like that vibe for whatever reason – bored and sultry, maybe a little pained. Yes, I may look bored and pained to even be existing, but I am anything but in life and I feel lucky to be able to say that. That, plain and simply, makes me happy. Also wearing vintage lingerie and sleep wear makes me happy. I wish I could just live in it all the days of my life. Garments now are just not made with same quality and care, which is rather puzzling. In theory, things should improve with time when we have gained more knowledge and experience through trial and error. But it seems to me, with clothes, it has become cheaper quality at cut costs. A brassiere that has been around since 1960 and is still in great condition?! That’s what I’m talking about! Your Victoria Secret bra will not stand the test of time, I give her 1-3 yrs, tops (depending on the use she gets) While my bullety friend over here will probably live to 70…maybe more. She’s an old girl already, and myself and my twins love her dearly.

DSC_2441DSC_2439DSC_2411DSC_2422DSC_2551DSC_2418DSC_2552DSC_24091. I got this coat from my best friend Kristen a few years back. I’ve held onto it for a long time while never really wearing it because I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I’m kind of obsessed with it these days, and that is a perfect example of why I am a clothing hoarder.
2. Just the sun giving us a little peek through the trees. Hey sun!
3. Ryan and I love Grand Electric, although we tend to get takeout over eating at the restaurant – the wait time for a table at this place can be absurd. However, we got lucky the other day, arriving just before dinner. I ordered 4 crispy cauliflower tacos and one GE Sour. Always the same. I’m nothing if not consistent.
4. The beautiful waterfront in Barrie.
5. A lone log stranded at “Garbage Beach”.
6. Ryan says every picture I take and post of him he is wearing basically the same outfit. I told him this is okay, he is like Karl Lagerfeld.
7. Kayaks and canoes, which I’m sure will get some use if this weather continues.
8. I remember the first time I made him smile and laugh before we knew eachother or shared words. I don’t remember the funny thing I said, but that smile has stayed with me. Sometimes I like to think about that time and how out of a group of my friends, his laugh, the single person I didn’t know, was the only one that stood out to me.

TLO April Lookbook

01300026The color scheme in both the clothes and location of TLO’s latest lookbook is superb. Particularly, the pastel pink in the first two looks in combination with the rich greens in the background feels oh so summery, and is just the sort of bright, obnoxious things I’d like to be wearing once the weather figures itself out. It’s another one of those lookbooks that feels very suburban California, and we all know I love love love that. C’mon Summer, hurry your butt up!
