A Relaxed One

OKAY ANDIE | IADWM: A Relaxed Onethis is what i got up to

I’m starting a new series on the blog and as the name implies, i will be sharing a day in my life – from the exciting to the mundane. This idea came to mind in an effort to get myself to pick up my camera more often, document day to day life as it is, and test myself on how I can share a day in images with little to no words. This first go was alright. There were parts in the day I wished I had documented, like our delicious homemade fresh rolls dinner and a very hilarious TV setup for our Riverdale/tickle documentary viewing. But ah well! One post at a time.

There’s little more that makes me as happy as hiking does; give me some good pals, beautiful weather, scenic views and a camera, and you can be certain I’ll be in good spirits (obnoxiously singing to vocalize my joy, no doubt). This past weekend Zach and I decided to do just that, and headed for Hamilton to see some of his best pals, Nick, Jesse and Emma (but she was away), their ridiculously adorable daughter Dorothy. I don’t visit Hamilton much, but I think it’s well worth the trip every so often – aside from the lovely people who reside there – just for the views. Dundas Peak is stunning year round, but particularly so in Autumn with it’s colourful, changing leaves. We didn’t make it all the way to the peak, but what we did see was enough to leave me satisfied (that’s what she said).

Photo diaries are one of my favourite series on the blog and you guys always seem to enjoy them, so I’m happy to finally (!!!) be able to share another with you. Hope you like them ❤

Blue Jumpsuit Apparatus

I feel a bit of writer’s block these days. Although the visual part of my blog is hugely important to me, I want the written content to be another reason people continue to come back to this space. After all, I feel far more connection to the bloggers who actually write, and more specifically, write about their lives, thoughts and opinions, accompanied with beautiful images. So it’s something I strive for with this blog. With the internet being a place where envy can grow to insurmountable heights, I like the idea of realness and truth – that no one’s life is worth more or less, that it cannot be measured by anything, especially not by follower count or how full and interesting your life looks on the outside. So I like writing. I like writing so I can be open and true and make connections in a real way. But sometimes it’s tiring to feel like there is always something that needs to be said, and my mind just sort of draws a blank when it comes to writing these posts. And as I re-read this, I realize I have said quite a lot for someone with writer’s block…I guess I’ve made a liar of myself. Oops.

As you know, I like to keep this space entirely run by me, so Zach has never shot a full length outfit post for me. But it was due time he popped in. He takes beautiful images, which I have said a squillion times, at this point, but it’s true (I feel proud, ok!). I received this jumpsuit from Little Teacup Vintage on Saturday and fell pretty hard for it, so I enlisted the help of Zach to capture it’s awesomeness. And of course he went above and beyond, giving your eyeballs that beautiful light to behold and capturing some pretty dear moments.

Photo Diary: Toronto Island

Larkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandALL THAT GLITTERS…

The same weekend we went to the cabin, we also spent some of our Saturday on Toronto Island to shoot images for the same job that brought us to Schomberg. I’ve been to Toronto Island a bunch of times – mostly for work actually – but never in the winter, that I can recall. It’s too bad there hasn’t been much snow in Toronto, I really think the island would be a sight to behold beneath a blanket of stark white snow, but disappointingly, it just looked like a lifeless landscape of grey-brown, for the most part (Toronto is just rather dreary looking in general during the winter, even when there is snow). It was also absolutely frigid this day, so it probably didn’t help that we were surrounded by water, and of course, me being me, I wore a skirt and tights like a true sartorial genius. But hey, I shouldn’t complain, it was a nice day despite the cold – I got to eat a delicious lunch at Brock Sandwich before we headed to the island, we walked on a frozen pond turned ice rink that was drenched in the golden glow of the sun’s rays (which was the most beautiful juxtaposition nature could throw my way and still makes me smile thinking about it) and I got to spend the day with my two favourite dudes. The sort of day that makes frosty winters seem less unbearable.Larkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto IslandLarkspur Vintage | Photo Diary: Toronto Island

Happy Holidays

Larkspur Vintage | Happy HolidaysLarkspur Vintage | Happy HolidaysI’m currently sat in my parents kitchen after eating a butt load of cinnamon buns and unwrapping what is the most exciting amount of lush bath bombs my eyes could behold, and I thought it appropriate to wish you all a very Happy Holidays, whether you celebrate it or not. Gus is currently wearing his Santa suit, although, the hat has made a disappearance because it really seems to upset him (he was just staring at the floor until I took it off), but it makes me laugh (and I’m the boss), so I’m sure to get a snap of him in the outfit every year, which I guess has now become tradition (here, here). I should probably get back to family time, but I hope you all have a wonderful day. Let me know about any fun gifts you gave, or got, or things you did! I want to hear all about it ❤
