Grace Under Pressure

Processed with VSCOcam with m3 presetWell things have been a little chaotic in my life as of late. The blog has been a bit neglected because of how time consuming moving has been for us. We opted not to rent a truck for the move since Ryan has a pickup truck, but that means we have been moving things almost every single day, leaving little time for anything else really. How I ended up owning so many things is beyond me. It’s made me realize I really need to learn to purge my things every once in awhile. Clothes is a BIG one for me (obviously, tee hee). It’s a bit tricky though because it seems most of the clothes taking up space are Larkspur items (oh how I wish I had a studio space!). I realized while moving just how much stuff I have yet to list that have been sitting in my “to-list” bin for what seems like months. I’m looking forward to getting a little more settled in this new space so I can bombard the shop with a ton of new stuff (and hopefully get it out of my closets). Anyways, I just wanted to give a wee update. It pains me a lot when I feel like I just don’t have the time to take pictures for this blog or update it regularly. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure I have things to share with you. But Ryan has tried to remind me that things don’t always go as we plan them (I have a hard time accepting that) and it’s okay for me to be busy with “real life” stuff, so I should not beat myself up when I can’t stick to my regular schedule.

Thanks for being patient with me guys. I’m hoping by next week things will be back to normal. I do plan to update this week as much as I can, so keep an eye out. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

For The Love Of Lingerie

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 presetWhile I’m in the midst of moving, things may be a little quiet around here until I get my internet switched over to the new place. In the mean time, I’d like to share a wee post Larkspur was featured in over the weekend at For The Love of Lingerie blog. I’m pretty excited about it since we all know of my love for lingerie, so it was very flattering to be featured as their Etsy pick of the week. Please check it out if you have a chance.

Take care dear pals. Hopefully I’ll be back here posthaste.

8I’m finally able to share with you the first shoot I styled (and modelled) with Gerald that was just published in the latest issue of Elegant Magazine. I’m quite excited about this, because it’s an actual print magazine, which means I can get my hands on a copy (as can you!!!). The pain about styling and modeling in shoots that are mean’t for publications is that you’ve got to wait and wait (and wait) sometimes until they have been released by the magazine. So while I had seen these images months ago, I had to wait to share them with you all (save for the few teasers on my instagram). But here we are! I’d just like to say, there is something so fun about being surrounded by gingers all day! To be honest, I don’t really know many gingers, at least not ones I see on the regular (we are very rare and we are mostly men…Girl, Interrupted anyone?!) I felt an immediate connection to these gals. A gingerly bond, if you will.

Cotton Candy Confections

DSC_4652So it seems we are going back in time a bit with this post. I realized I never got around to posting it, or rather I was planning on posting it before I left on my trip, but just didn’t have the time. These are from a couple weekends back when Meaghan and I went to the CNE to eat tastiness, ride some rides, and well, that’s pretty much it. This summer has really flown by. Meg and I hadn’t really done anything just the two of us in ages. It was a much, much needed date, and I loved every minute of it. I’m used to going to the CNE annually with Kristen and a bunch of pals, but Kristen didn’t make it down, and most of those pals don’t live in Toronto anymore, so it’s an inevitable end to that era.  But to be honest, as years go by, the CNE seems less and less appealing to me – the crowds, the money, the rides I have rode 100 times before – maybe I’m just getting old. I’ll probably continue to go as long as I live in Toronto, but I sort of like to make it an in and out type situation – hit up the rides I like, eat the food that will make me feel sick, and then run for my life.

I wore my most carnival themed attire though, so that was fun. This dress reminds me of cotton candy, with it’s bright blue, and the sweetest paisley in light pink, gold and white (although it’s hard to see the pink, but I assure you it is there). It only made sense that I would devour a shared bag of cotton candy with Meaghan and snap some silly photos of me. Oh man, there are some very hilarious outtakes of me shoving cotton candy in my mouth, it’s not easy to look cute while eating, at least not for me.

I hope your final day of the long weekend is a nice one. It’s a little gloomy here today, but sometimes I like that because it forces me to stay in and get some work done, or like, watch Netflix while I stroke Gus’s ears, cause they are fucking soft, guys.
