Dungarees can be one of the trickiest articles of clothing to find and have it fit the body properly. I have tried on dozens of dungarees – although, mostly second hand or vintage – and have only found one I feel fits me nicely, and it’s not even this dress. This dress seemingly looks nice from the front, but when you take a look at the back, it gapes at back waistband, making it look pretty silly. It has a rather untraditional look from behind, something more similar to a pinafore in style, giving you the option to cross or uncross the straps. However, if I don’t cross the straps then they have a tendency to fall off my shoulders, so in return for a more fitted look, it creates the dreaded gaping situation I so loathe. I guess you can’t win ’em all in the dungaree game. I’m still a fan of this dress however (clearly, since I’m wearing it), and for a mere $5 for a dress that seemed to have never been worn, it felt worth my money, even with it’s design flaws.
Do you guys have any articles of clothing that feel like they could have been designed a bit better? Or are you smarter than me and don’t waste your pennies if the fit isn’t perfect?

I love the way you’ve styled this outfit. The dungarees look very nice on you! And I love the contrast it creates with the romantic blouse. Also, that clutch is so cute!
I have a couple of items of clothing that I maybe shouldn’t have bought because of the fit isn’t quite right, but usually if I do get it, it’s because something in particular drew me to the item. And then I think it’s worth an odd fit, as long as it is possible to “cheat” it right.
You are beautiful as always! Lovely post.

Totally agree with you. I’m also one of those people that says I will get it tailored to fit me better, but then I never do it, haha! so i just deal with the weird fit. Thank you so much for your kind words, as always. Much love to you ❤

I’ve had issues with overalls/pinafores too. They’re always too long in the torso part for me but having adjustable straps really helps. I think this one looks adorable on you though. Such a classic-looking summer look.

Tricky little dungarees! I have the same issue. I have quite a short torso, so things always fit strangely on me. Thanks darling ❤

lol yup yup. I have a pair I love sooo much for their oversized look but the straps are so long that I have to wear like a tunic or leotard underneath or else sometimes my undies or hip skin shows! been meaning to take those up sometime…. love the shade of blue of yours! pretty stuff.

I wish I could say I don’t, but I often shop despite design flaws/imperfect fits. I’m trying to get rid of those pieces these days, although I love them dearly.
