Winter Lights

There are several things I could say I love about TLO’s January look book. Firstly, it’s The Loved One, and they absolutely cannot go wrong, ever. Secondly, is a compilation of all things that are pretty wonderful (in my humble opinion). India Menuez is stunning, always. Hannah Metz’s creamy-edwardian-cozy styling is the sort of thing I would like to be wearing everyday for the rest of this miserable winter (yes, I am feeling totally disenchanted now). Agnes Thor always captures these magical moments, that always leaves my heart feeling full. The whole countryside setting for the look book is pretty spectacular as well (campfire, cute idea!). I recently watched My Summer of Love, and each shot feels like several scenes of the girls laying in tall grass, and mountain tops and day dreaming about a life unlike their own. This look book feels like that, mixed with The Virgin Suicides-esque dresses. It’s moody and ethereal and I love it.

Erin Fetherston for Cosabella

ErinFetherston_S14_Book

My jaw was on the floor after laying eyes on Erin Fetherston x Cosabella’s bridal intimates lookbook. Trying to decide what my favorite part of this lookbook is, well, a hard endeavor. India Menuez is one of the most effortlessly beautiful women walking this earth (i feel ginger kinship!), the lingerie pieces are ones I’d gladly wear on my body and shove into my already exploding drawer of intimates, and photography by Shae Detar…well enough said. It’s a beautiful marriage between loveliness and women that cannot fail.

I’m a sucker for black, ivory and nude intimates. I’m not really a colorful girl when it comes to what I wear under my clothes. Also simplicity is key. Not to say I do not care about details, I love me a beautiful fabric (lace, eyelet, swiss dots!!), but I like things that can be worn comfortably under clothes, while also being swoon worthy when seen. While this line may be mean’t for a bride’s wedding night, I think it does an exquisite job of incorporating all the things I would look for (minus the ribbon tie panties, not a fan) in my everyday wear.

Winter Wonderland

1_c3e67bf1-4d84-4d12-9023-5a80b647c583

I’m sort of holiday obsessed right now (who isn’t?). More specifically, I’m holiday dress obsessed. Last year I had this really wonderful vintage emerald green velvet dress with a scalloped neckline for the holidays, and while it’s still a favorite, I want something new (to me). Deep greens are always a favorite of mine for the holiday season, but when I look at White Pepper’s Winter Wonderland editorial, I’m kind of like, well, maybe not all holiday themed things need to be gold, red and green. Maybe we’ve entered an era of wintery pastels and gingham, and gothy vibes (my 16yr old self would say, very yes please!). I’m pretty into it. But, I’m not sure I’m totally sold. Maybe I’ve just become a traditional gal when it comes to these things. Although, the gold dresses in this editorial are really catching my eye (still pretty traditional for the holidays, but not something I ever find myself leaning towards) Maybe i’ll be a golden gal this year?! Or, if I could just look like this…I’d be pretty okay with that.

Leith Clark x Warby Parker

warbyparker3

Everything Leith Clark touches turns to gold, and her collaboration with Warby Parker is no exception. Unfortunately for my face, I won’t be wearing any of these eye glasses any time in the foreseeable future. Sometimes I curse the fact that my eye sight is excellent (k, well that’s dumb). However, those Greta sunnies are looking pretty excellent. I would have never pictured myself lusting after a pair of purple shades, but these ones look so damn cool. Maybe it’s just that they are round and giving off 60’s vibes, either way, I want. Thanks Leith for always being amazing.

Russian Doll

lindsey-wixson-by-emma-summerton-for-vogue-japan-december-2013This editorial in Vogue Japan’s December 2013 Issue killed my heart! Lindsey Wixson looks like the most glamorous russian doll I have ever laid eyes on. I mean, she already looks like a doll (those eyes and lips! not fair), but the clothes and styling are so reminiscent of Russian doll vibes, with a little sprinkle of Victorian perfection, it makes my heart skip a beat. We could all agree the headpieces could very well be the stars of the show. If I didn’t feel so insane walking down the street on a regular day wearing a headpiece, say, doing errands, I would do it, everyday (sometimes I wish I could just go back to my 10yr old self who would wear anything and everything without giving it a second thought). The most obvious reason for my love of this shoot is the print & pattern mixing. This editorial is the epitome of that, the very definition of why everyone should just walk around with at least two prints on their body at all times.

In closing, I have only this to say, bow ties, florals, headpieces, exquisite prints & doll woman…I love you all.
