While shooting some content for the blog, Gus decided to join in and when I went to edit the images I almost cried laughing from how hilarious he looks in this shot.
2. Lately I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier since I am a junk food nut. In replace of eating an entire bag of peanut butter m&ms I’ve been having almonds, dried cranberries and just a few dark chocolate chips.
3. A mountain man and his baby.
4. Maybe I’m a bit late jumping on the bandwagon, but I’ve become a huge fan of avocado toast, only this recipe is a bit more interesting – seedy bread, a little mayo dijon topped with mashed avocado and a hard-boiled egg. If you’ve never tried this before, do it!! So tasty!
5. My new Zoeva makeup brushes that I am in love with and my Falconwright clutch (unfortunately Falconwright is no longer.)
6. Always blending in to everything white.
7. My house was freezing over the weekend, so I went over to the mall and picked up some $3 slippers for my hooves – how I went without slippers for so long, I am not sure.
8. Last week I was quite ill, and for 3 days this is what my life looked like.
9. I’m modelling for and styling a lookbook this coming weekend and the designer wanted a sort of French new wave film vibe, so I picked up these Anna Karina inspired glasses…my eyesight is superb, which I shouldn’t complain about, but I sometimes wish I needed glasses so I could wear fun ones like these.

DSC_2549DSC_2567DSC_2467DSC_2736DSC_2750DSC_24751. Our spider plant is dying…I think. Also please ignore it’s ugly pot, it needs to be re-potted into something more aesthetically pleasing. Any tips for keeping a healthy and happy spider plant? Ryan has quite a green thumb, but this lil baby seems unhappy, still. Also, our Brennan Michael candle is still going strong, and seriously, it smells amazing, get yourself one!
2. We have been looking after Ryan’s family dog Beans for the last month. Watching her and Gus play is actually so hilarious.
3. There aren’t many details about my apartment that I truly enjoy, but I love the mirror and light fixture in our bathroom.
4. Hey, there’s me, in the mirror!
5. My go-to breakfast of late – greek yogurt, fruits, fruits, fruits and flax seeds (also I aint no food photographer, this is real life peeps)
6. Beans needs constant attention and steals all the socks!

Following Nature

031_8I met Heather Wells, designer of these exquisite headpieces and the creator behind Heart of Gold Designs, through instagram last summer. Her headpieces are made from vintage and precious materials crafted into these incredibly romantic and ethereal pieces that would make any gal (or guy) feel like an elegant, otherworldly creature. I knew I would want to shoot some of her pieces at some point and luck would have it that Meaghan and I had envisioned a shoot like this almost one year ago (except with a lot more snow…snow, she’s never there when you need her), so Heather’s pieces felt like the perfect fit once we finally brought this shoot to fruition. I’m pretty happy with how the images turned out. Meaghan and I took turns behind and in front of my pentax on this somewhat mild winter day.

DSC_2163DSC_2154DSC_2141DSC_2143DSC_2151DSC_2144DSC_2142DSC_2147Processed with VSCOcam with n3 preset1. Old books.
2. My new-to-me pink 1950s flour, sugar, coffee and tea canisters.
3. iPhones are addictive, guys…especially when you have two.
4. We finally got curtains for our livingroom. Ryan decided to put his polar bear figurines (Ryan has loved polar bears since he was young) on the windowsill, on top of the curtain, to create a snowy scene for the bear…ya, I dunno either.
5. I see a pattern here…another 1950s pink kitchen item…this time a mixing bowl, with a happy little pineapple inside (we also got a juicer recently, so we have fruits galore).
6. We are looking after Ryan’s family dog, Beans, for the next few weeks. Aren’t they cute together? Like salt and pepper. (iphone)
7. Our livingroom is kind of filled with guitars and guitar amps. I’m still trying to figure out how to make the livingroom feel equal parts me and equal parts Ryan…it’s very Ryan right now.
8. A sleeping cloud baby.
9. We need to fix the frame on this picture so Bob Dylan can find a home on the wall. Also, maybe I should paint it a better colour.
10. Messy bed, that I’d very much like to be in right about now. (iphone)

Family by Arden Wray

tumblr_nhteobQsn21qjb0fho1_1280I mean it when I say I have been anticipating the release of this photo story for a long while. If memory serves me right, I got a sneak peak of the goodness over one year ago through instagram (I follow all these amazing women, plus the photographer Arden). There is something so special about Arden’s photography. It has such an honesty about it, which is a rare ability, but is my absolute favourite thing to find in a photographer. She truly captures the authentic beauty of every subject she photographs, which is for the most part, people. As much as I like photographs of landscapes and still lifes (if done right), portraits will always be my favourite. People are just so interesting, and she couldn’t have found a better group of women to make these scenes from an imagined-film come to life. If you’d like to see the whole thing (which you do, I know it), you can find it here.
