2. Gelato from Boreal Gelato. I got pistachio and salted caramel, Ryan got mojito and coconut (mine was better).
3. My dear dear friend Brandon, or as he is more commonly known, Bizzy. He is one of the most vibrant, kind, selfless and beautiful people I have ever met. He is someone I have been lucky enough to dance beside and get to know over the last several years. On top of being an incredibly talented dancer, he is also an amazing videographer, and was filming a piece that me and 2 other dancers performed, choreographed by Shai just last night. I’m so excited to it share with you when it’s done!
4. I’ve met such awesome and interesting people through instagram (yay internet) I recently received such a sweet and thoughtful gift from an insta friend, Niki of First Ladies Vintage.
5. Recently I had the pleasure of dancing next to Andrew (that piece I was talking about above), he is a beautiful, beautiful dancer (like no joke guys. insane.) Male contemporary dancers are always my favorite to watch.

Betty Magazine / Amber, India, Hannah
This is going to be a short and sweet one this week because I think I have already talked about these three women endlessly (Amber Mahoney, India Menuez and Hannah Metz, for those of you confused), and how much I love them, and when they collaborate and create together, it’s like magic to my eyes and soul. I happened upon a few images from this editorial for Betty Magazine through instagram (as usual) a few weeks ago. I knew immediately it would be an editorial I would want to share. The aesthetic makes perfect sense to me, and is probably exactly how I would style a shoot. I could go on and on, but let’s just allow the images to speak for themselves, shall we?

You look so familiar
Recently, Meaghan and I were talking about getting out of our comfort zones. We are both people that get nervous about the unexpected and unfamiliar, and so we sort of avoid it, convincing ourselves that nothing good could come of it. We both came to realize we have always had best friends or partners that pull us from our comfort zones and show us that the unfamiliar is not always so bad. In fact, it can be great. And while that is really nice, it’s something I wish I could do on my own more regularly. The same rings true for my appearance. I pretty much wear my hair and makeup the same everyday. I used to be far more experimental when I was young, but maybe as you get older you just know what you like. I have not had the desire to change around my makeup routine in years. Probably because I wore far too much of it as a teenager, and I like to keep things as natural as possible nowadays. But – not to toot my own horn or anything – I’m quite good at makeup. It’s something that has always felt natural and easy for me. I cannot draw a picture for shit, but I can make a perfect cat-eye in no time. It makes me consider possibly adding a beauty series to this blog, because I’m going to be real, you won’t see me walking around with blue eye shadow any time soon, but I’d happily share some tips and fun ideas on here. But I digress… My hair is much the same way, although I have never really considered myself very savvy in hairstyling. As a teenager I’d play around with different styles all the time, nowadays I go through months and months of wearing my hair the same way. When I was growing it out it was always up in a bun, when it was a little longer I would rag roll it, and now I wear it wavy, which takes the least amount of effort out of any of those and I really like that because I have a shit ton of hair. In the grand scheme of things, wearing my hair and makeup the same everyday is small potatoes and honestly doesn’t matter, but it is an example of how I generally stick to what I know and feel comfortable with. The familiar is good, I like it, but adding a little spontaneity to my life probably won’t kill me.

Into It, Intimates / Lonely Lingerie
I was originally going to share Lonely Lingerie’s lookbook (which is still very good!), but then I remembered how they have the ‘The Lonely Girls Project’, which to be honest, I think features their intimates in a more sexy, interesting and relatable way, so here we are. I much prefer seeing ‘everyday women’ wearing lingerie. It just feels a little more honest to me. Something rubs me the wrong away about the giant billboards for Victoria Secret (et. al) of models with their extreme push-ups, hour glass figures, and doll-like features (no offence to those women. I am not trying to bring them down in anyway, they could very much look that way in real life, and photoshop was not abused to create the perfect visage, but they are not exactly a true representation of every woman). I appreciate real women feeling comfortable enough with themselves to parade around in their underoos, reppin’ the everyday, average gal. So it seems fitting to me that Lonely Lingerie’s garments embody this sort of empowered bad ass woman vibe. It’s got a pretty obvious dominatrix vibe to it, without feeling too harsh and unapproachable – the sweet and gentle dominatrix, if you will. Like most intimate brands that I really like, Lonely Lingerie feels like there is something for every woman, and of course, has a little bit of that old-timey air to it.

Belle Vie / 10
1. Sipping coffee in the sun room at Ryan’s dad’s home. This is our favorite room to start the day when visiting.
2. Beach feet.

4. We spent a lot of time at the beach this past weekend, which is ironic since I’m a ginger who burns within 5 minutes of direct sunlight on the ol’ pale skin.
5. Beans, Ebony…she has a lot of names, and none of them really describe what a wonderful dog she is.
6. Playing his acoustic guitar again. It’s funny, I only seem to photograph him when he plays his acoustic, but he really loves his black and tan Les Paul the most, and plays it way more often.
7. They have burned all the trees in the “Tree Preservation Area”.
8. Tullah, oh wee Tullah. I swear to you, small fluffy dogs love me, they just know, at heart, I am one of them.

11.The tiniest pine cone. There was another picture we took with these wee pine cones, but it was out of focus, which is such a shame, it would have been a great pic.
12. He is always highly entertaining to take pictures of. I sometimes think he is more comfortable in front of the camera than I am.
